Accessibility
Last updated October 9, 2026
We want everyone to be able to hatch, trade and raid. Here's what works today and what we're still improving.
What works
- Keyboard and controllers. Raids work with arrow keys or WASD and the space bar; on a TV, phones act as large-button gamepads.
- Screen readers. Menus, sheets and buttons have labels, and status messages are announced.
- No time pressure in the main game. Eggs and coins wait for you; only night raids are timed.
- Text and color. Text is high-contrast on the night-blue background, and rarities have names as well as colors.
- Any screen. The layout adapts from small phones to TVs, and you can pinch or browser-zoom the page.
- Labelled buttons. Every menu button has a word under its icon, and touch targets are at least 44 pixels on phones.
- Sound you control. Music and sound effects start only after your first tap. The speaker button at the top turns all sound off, and the Store has separate Music and Sound effects switches and a volume slider; your choice is remembered. Every sound comes with something you can see (a message, an animation or a screen), so nothing depends on hearing.
- Checked. In October 2026 we tested every page with the axe-core accessibility checker against WCAG 2.2 AA and fixed every issue it found.
What's still hard
- Raids are a timed stealth mini-game that relies on seeing the map. They're optional: you can play the whole game without raiding.
- The pen and raid scenes are drawn on a canvas, so screen readers can't describe everything in them yet.
