Who's responsible for your data

The controller is Media Yard LLC, PO Box 73, Pennsauken, NJ 08110, USA, contact privacy@hatchnight.com. We don't have an establishment in the UK or EU, so we've appointed representatives you can contact instead (GDPR and UK GDPR Article 27):

We don't make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects. Game randomness (egg hatches, raid maps) is the same for everyone and isn't based on your data.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or export your data, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent. Email privacy@hatchnight.com; we reply within one month. You can complain to a supervisory authority: in the UK the Information Commissioner's Office, in the EU your national data protection authority.

International transfers

Your data is processed in the United States (where Media Yard LLC is based) and by our providers in the US and elsewhere. Where a provider is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, its UK Extension or the Swiss-U.S. framework, we rely on that; otherwise on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum. Ask us for a copy of the safeguards at privacy@hatchnight.com. See Subprocessors and Data processing.

Children

We follow the UK Age Appropriate Design Code: high-privacy defaults for everyone, no profiling, no nudges to share data, no free-text chat, and extra limits for players under 13 (see Parents). The waitlist uses consent, so in the EU it's only for people who have reached the age of digital consent in their country (13 to 16 depending on the country).

Consumer rights for purchases

EU Digital Services Act

UK Online Safety Act

Hatchnight lets players interact (preset chat, trades, raids), so it's a user-to-user service. Our safety design: no free-text chat, no images or links from users, friends by code for children, reporting and blocking for everyone, and a team that reviews reports. Report harmful behavior in the game or email support@hatchnight.com with "Safety" in the subject. You can complain about how we handled a report at the same address.
